Lionel Messi scored his 425th goal in his 500th game for Barcelona on Wednesday ( Dec. 30) as Barcelona beat Real Betis 4 : 0 . The La Liga champions were awarded a fortunate first-half penalty when goalkeeper Antonio Adan collided with Lionel Messi but  Neymar's penalty clattered the bar before the ball rebounded off Heiko Westermann into his own net .


Four minutes later and Messi, making his 500th appearance for the club, doubled his side's lead at the Nou Camp .


 Just minutes into the second half  striker Luis Suarez made it 3-0 after midfielder Sergio Busquets played him through with a sublime pass .

The former Liverpool star doubled his tally late in the second half after a sweet one-two with Neymar , making it 4 : 0 for 2015's best club in the world !
